Participation in the CIL–ANCORS Workshop on Maritime Boundary Delimitation

By ILPC

Ms. Aye Myat Thu, Managing Director of International Legal and Policy Consulting (ILPC), attended the CIL–ANCORS Workshop on Maritime Boundary Delimitation, held from 22 to 24 September 2026 at the National University of Singapore.

The workshop was organised by the Centre for International Law (CIL) at the National University of Singapore and the Australian National Centre for Ocean Resources and Security (ANCORS) at the University of Wollongong.

The programme offered an opportunity to deepen her understanding of the legal and practical aspects of maritime boundary delimitation. Topics included the framework of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), the role of baselines and geographical considerations, and the factors involved in maritime boundary negotiations. The workshop also considered emerging issues such as the potential effects of sea-level rise on maritime boundaries.

Through discussions and practical exercises, Ms. Aye Myat Thu had the opportunity to exchange perspectives with experts and fellow participants working in the field of the law of the sea. She received a Certificate of Participation upon attending the workshop.

ILPC appreciates the opportunity to take part in this valuable programme and to continue developing its knowledge of international maritime law and the law of the sea.
