In April 2026, Ms. Aye Myat Thu, Managing Director of International Legal and Policy Consulting (ILPC), had the opportunity to attend the 113th session of the International Maritime Organization’s Legal Committee (LEG 113) as an observer, alongside her fellow students from the IMO International Maritime Law Institute (IMLI).
The session was held at IMO Headquarters in London from 13 to 17 April 2026. It brought together representatives and observers to consider legal matters affecting international shipping, including the welfare of seafarers and the registration of ships.
Attending as an IMLI student provided Ms. Aye Myat Thu with an opportunity to observe the Committee’s work and gain insight into how maritime legal issues are discussed at the international level.
